Let's not forget German Banks are in as much a financial mess as Italy's. With over 300 billion Euro combined debts on their balance sheets. Deutsche Bank are particularly exposed to shipping loan debts which they are trying to sell off to readdress their balance sheets. Is Deutsche Bank to big to Fail?? Will the German tax payers have to bail them out??? Will the EU look away whilst it does? and what would the Greek banks say that were left go to the wall? Will the Italian banks be allowed a bail out. Under EU law no banks should be bailed out yet we have seen in this country that rule has not been applied. Just like the ECB printing money (quantitative easing) that EU laws forbid??
The EZ economies are in crisis and it is the Euro in particular that is causing the issues. Yet as we see in the free movement of people, the fundamental problems these EU ideologies are causing are so set in stone that the ruling elite are too blind to turn from the path of self destruction they have set themselves on. Like lemmings they are heading for the cliff's edge and they can't stop themselves.
I believe the UK decision to leave the EU may have been in time the wisest move we have made, although there will be some short term pain the long term will i hope prove to be fruitful. Europe must change and reform if it is to survive and for that to happen there has to a fundamental change at the top. I hope the immigration issues sweeping the European Continent will spark that change and remove those leaders who have lead Europe to the brink of financial and social ruin.
